  • Google Messages Now Displays Stunning Ultra HDR Images

Google Messages Now Displays Stunning Ultra HDR Images

Google Messages has joined the league of apps supporting Ultra HDR, a revolutionary image format in Android 14. This format enhances photography by embedding an HDR gain map in the metadata of images, resulting in vibrant colors and increased contrast when viewed on compatible devices. While Google Chrome and Google Photos had already incorporated Ultra HDR support, Google Messages quietly joined the list in September 2023, just before the Pixel 8 series launch.

    Google Messages

Sharing Ultra HDR images via Google Messages using RCS ensures that the HDR gain map is retained, providing recipients with a visually enhanced photo experience on compatible devices. Despite lacking a distinct icon or text to identify Ultra HDR images, opening them on devices like the Pixel 8 series triggers the automatic application of the HDR gain map, bringing out richer colors and highlights.

Although some social media platforms may compress or remove Ultra HDR metadata, Google Messages preserves the gain map, allowing backed-up images to retain their enhanced quality in Google Photos. It’s important to note that Google Photos currently doesn’t support editing Ultra HDR pictures without losing metadata. For editing while retaining metadata, users can turn to Adobe Lightroom.

Presently, only the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro support capturing 10-bit Ultra HDR photos, while viewing capabilities extend to the Pixel 7 series and newer models. As more Android flagship phones enter the market, the list of supported devices is expected to grow in the coming months.

To witness the superior quality of Ultra HDR images compared to regular photos, users can explore a dedicated GitHub repository by Android expert Mishaal Rahman. The immediate improvement in image quality is evident when viewed on compatible devices such as a MacBook Pro or the Pixel 8.

    Samsung Galaxy S23

As of now, Amazon is selling the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra at just $899.99 in the US (originally $1,199.99) and £999 in the UK (originally £1,249). These prices mark historic lows for the device on a standalone basis. Although Amazon extended its UK promotion to December 31, limited stock may deplete before the deadline. For those open to trading in their existing premium smartphones, Samsung’s offer might be an even more attractive option. Leaked designs hint at Huawei Nova 12 Ultra’s triple-camera marvel

Huawei fans are in for an exciting December as the tech giant prepares for a special conference following the recent Huawei full scene conference on November 28th. The focus of this event is expected to be on the much-anticipated Nova 12 series, specifically the Nova 12 Ultra.

    Nova 12 Ultra

Leaked design drawings from a well-known blogger reveal a new appearance for the Nova 12 Ultra. It showcases a unique triple-camera setup arranged vertically, with the prominent XMAGE imaging brand logo next to the lens module. Notably, the inclusion of XMAGE imaging, usually found in Huawei’s flagship devices, suggests a significant improvement in the camera capabilities of the Nova 12 series, making it a key selling point.

Internally, the Nova 12 series is set to feature Huawei’s new Kirin chip across its lineup. The Nova 12 Ultra, in particular, is expected to share the same processor as the Huawei Mate 60 series, promising a powerful performance. Additionally, rumors suggest that the Nova 12 Ultra will support advanced features such as two-way Beidou satellite messaging, Kunlun glass, and more, showcasing its technological prowess.

This development follows Huawei’s trend seen in devices like the Mate 60 series, Mate X5, and MatePad Pro 13.2-inch, all powered by the latest in-house Kirin processors. • Funny Video Sparks Debate: Are Pandas Really Humans in Disguise?”

Funny Video Sparks Debate: Are Pandas Really Humans in Disguise?”

In a hilarious twist, a viral video has sparked discussions, leaving some people convinced that pandas might not be real animals but humans dressed in panda suits. Pandas, known for their adorableness and as symbols of resistance against extinction, have become the center of attention in these amusing videos that question their authenticity.

    Pandas

Despite their cuteness, pandas are often considered comically useless due to their diet primarily consisting of a challenging-to-digest plant, leading them to spend most of their time eating and sleeping. Their selective breeding habits further contribute to the mystery of their survival without human intervention.

One video, filmed at Chongqing Zoo on November 25, shows pandas seemingly gathering around a table for dinner, a sight that has some people wondering if these creatures are indeed real or just humans dressed in panda suits.

Expressing skepticism, one person commented, “Sure it isn’t someone in panda suits?” Another pondered, “This video just reinforces my theory that pandas are actually humans in panda suits. That’s not a real animal.”

This isn’t the first time doubts have arisen about bears potentially being people in costumes. A Chinese zoo in Hangzhou had to deny rumors that a bear in their facility was a human in a suit. Speculation began when an image surfaced showing the bear’s back, appearing remarkably similar to that of a human.

Some individuals jokingly welcomed the idea, with one saying, “I wouldn’t even be mad if it was someone in a suit. At least that’s another bear free.” Another added humorously, “Tell that bear to pull his pants up.”

    Pandas

While the debate continues, these amusing videos add a playful element to the ongoing fascination with pandas and their unique behaviors.

  • Revolutionizing Rail Travel: The Maglev Train’s High-Speed Marvel

Revolutionizing Rail Travel: The Maglev Train’s High-Speed Marvel

Humans have created a train that can travel almost as fast as the wind. This might sound like something from a fantasy world, but it’s now a reality. Countries like China, Japan, and South Korea are using this incredible technology known as the Maglev train.

    Maglev train

The Maglev train, short for magnetic levitation train, is the fastest train in the world, reaching a maximum speed of about 600 km/h. To put it into perspective, it would take approximately an hour to travel from Teknaf to Tetulia of Bangladesh with this high-speed train.

The concept of the Maglev train was first introduced by the Japanese railway company around 1970, and since then, it has become a significant topic of discussion. Japan has always been a leader in railway research worldwide.

The Maglev train utilizes the Electron Dynamic Suspension System, incorporating superconductor materials. Superconductors are substances through which electricity flows without any resistance or loss. Thanks to these superconductors, a continuous flow of electricity generates a powerful magnetic field.

To achieve this, the superconductor is cooled down to minus 260 degrees Celsius using liquid helium. This technology allows a heavy train to float in the air. When the train comes to a stop, rubber wheels are employed. These wheels provide the necessary traction for the magnet under the train to function. Remarkably, once the train reaches a speed of 150 km per hour, it can glide in just 10 mm of air.

Despite its incredible speed, the Maglev train is considered a safe system, providing passengers with an efficient and smooth travel experience. In 2015, research demonstrated that Maglev trains could reach speeds of up to 603 km per hour.

QStar Project: OpenAI’s Ambitious Venture into Artificial General Intelligence

OpenAI has become well-known worldwide for introducing ChatGPT to the public. The tech community was surprised when CEO Sam Altman was fired from OpenAI, but after some controversies, he was reinstated in his role.

    QStar

Many in the tech world are curious about the mystery behind Sam Altman’s initial firing from OpenAI and the subsequent decision to bring him back just a week later. Initially, the board of directors abruptly fired him, citing his lack of openness about the company’s activities. Adding to the surprise, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a collaboration with Sam Altman, who had resigned from OpenAI. They revealed plans to establish a new unit within Microsoft dedicated to Artificial Intelligence.

This move led to threats of resignations from several OpenAI officials. After multiple discussions, Sam Altman was eventually reinstated. OpenAI is unique in its focus on developing artificial intelligence technologies for the benefit of humanity rather than merely for financial gain. Another significant development emerged – OpenAI was secretly working on a project named QStar, a groundbreaking AI technology. Sam Altman was accused of working on this sensitive project without informing the board.

The QStar project involves the creation of an Artificial General Intelligence System. This independent system is designed to perform various tasks, including economic activities, without human intervention. A crucial aspect of this system is its ability to provide accurate answers by verifying information, eliminating the need for guesswork.

The training of artificial general intelligence systems involves mathematics. If successful, this project aims to enable the system to think logically like humans, facilitating easier scientific research. The system will be capable of understanding and solving mathematics independently. However, concerns arise about the potential threat to humanity if such a machine learning system can autonomously solve all problems in the future.

Exclusive: Real Photos of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Revealed!

Recently, we got a sneak peek at the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra through some fan-created images. However, there’s nothing like the real deal, and it seems someone on X (formerly Twitter) has managed to get their hands on the genuine Galaxy S24 Ultra and shared a few photos.

    Galaxy S24 Ultra

These pictures, courtesy of @DavidMa05368498, showcase the actual Galaxy S24 Ultra, not a fake model. It’s the flagship phone that Samsung plans to reveal in January. In the images, we see a flagship phone with a flat back panel and a completely flat screen – a pleasant surprise for S Pen users. Samsung seems to have ditched the curved edges, enhancing the overall user experience.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra marks an evolutionary step forward. Similar to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, this upcoming model features individual camera cutouts on the back panel and a square design. The metal frame of the Galaxy S24 Ultra has slightly rounded edges, while the top and bottom edges are flat. On the right edge, you’ll find the power button, volume key, and an antenna.

    Galaxy S24 Ultra

According to recent reports, Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy S24 series on January 17 at an Unpacked event in San Hose, California. Samsung has been busy trademarking names not only for products arriving in a few months but also for those expected in almost two years, like the Galaxy S25 or the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

In addition to smartphones, Samsung has filed trademark applications for various product categories, including smart rings and AR glasses in recent months. GalaxyClub, our friends in the know, discovered several applications in different countries. One notable discovery is a trademark application confirming that the Galaxy S24 will be marketed as an AI Phone.

Earlier, SamMobile reported Samsung’s plans to focus on artificial intelligence (AI) with its next flagship. Samsung subsequently confirmed this by introducing the Galaxy AI experience, set to debut with the Galaxy S24 lineup and bring numerous AI features.

  • Master Card Breaks New Ground in China: A Cashless Revolution

Master Card Breaks New Ground in China: A Cashless Revolution

In China, the Yuan has become one of the most popular currencies globally. Now, there’s exciting news as Master Card opens its doors to Chinese currency transactions. This wasn’t possible before, but after much effort, users can now utilize MasterCard within the world’s second-largest economy.

    MasterCard

Master Card is a game-changer, enabling users to handle all types of financial activities in China. While India leads the world in digital transactions, with 46 percent of its population using digital means, Brazil follows closely behind. In 2022, Brazil completed around 30 million digital transactions, securing its spot as the second-highest in the world. China, ranking third, is steadily progressing towards a cashless society.

Currently, over 90.4 million people in China engage in various forms of online transactions. With more than 44.4 million online shopping platforms and outlets providing MasterCard payment options, it contributes to a significant 87 percent of the country’s total annual payments. Alibaba’s Ali Pay and Tencent’s WeChat digital wallet, the major players in this landscape, account for 91 percent of all online transactions in China.

MasterCard faced challenges entering this market, primarily because, under previous rules, Union Pay was mandatory for Yuan payments, and MasterCard could only be used for transactions in US dollars. After over three years of persistence, MasterCard has finally succeeded, gaining an advantage in the vast Chinese market.

The Chinese market’s enormity provides MasterCard with numerous opportunities. Instead of being limited to US dollars, MasterCard now facilitates payments and money transactions in the local currency, the Yuan. This breakthrough allows MasterCard to tap into and potentially dominate this vast market, signaling a significant step towards a cashless future in China.
