American model and actress Courtney Coffey is arriving in Dhaka, Capital of Bangladesh on Saturday, December 9. She is coming mainly for the shooting of the new movie “Rajkumar,” where Bangladesh’s actor Shakib Khan will be the main character. The movie’s shooting is set to begin on December 10. Courtney has been working hard to learn Bengali for several months, and at her home, there’s a whiteboard with Bengali letters hanging on the wall.
Director Himel Ashraf confirmed to the media that Courtney is learning Bengali. He mentioned, “Courtney can’t speak fluent Bengali, but she has mastered what’s in the script very well. Her dedication is impressive.” This will be Courtney Coffey’s first time acting in a Bengali movie, and she is making sure she’s well-prepared for it, trying to learn the Bengali language. Courtney, who is associated with acting in the United States, has already acted in three short films. Speaking at the Maharat function of Shakib Khan’s film ‘Rajkumar,’ she expressed gratitude for being part of this project. She mentioned, “The movie has a beautiful story, and I feel lucky to work with Shakib Khan.”
Director Himel Ashraf provided insights about Courtney’s efforts, stating, “Courtney began trying to master the Bengali language a few months ago. When I went to New York last month for preproduction work, we met and chatted. I saw that she has progressed a lot. She is regularly learning Bengali with the help of an assistant. Additionally, she is using online tutorials, various apps, and watching Bengali movies to enhance her language skills.”
Courtney Coffey’s commitment to learning Bengali for her role in “Rajkumar” reflects her dedication to the project. Despite the language barrier, she is putting in the effort to ensure she performs well in her first Bengali movie alongside Shakib Khan.
