Huma Qureshi responds to Deepika Padukone facing criticism for mentioning she dated other people while being with Ranveer Singh: ‘Silly’. Deepika Padukone, in an episode of Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan 8, shared that before marrying Ranveer Singh, she was in relationships with other people while also talking to him.
Actress Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s appearance on the first episode of Karan Johar’s talk show Koffee With Karan 8 received both love and hate. Deepika faced harsh criticism for revealing that she was seeing other guys while dating Ranveer before their marriage. Reacting to this, actress Huma Qureshi said in a recent interview that trolls are unpredictable.
During the podcast AfterHours with All About Eve, Huma talked about the backlash Deepika faced and said, “What can we say, it’s silly… People expect us to be a certain way… I guess, something they want. I don’t know what it is, I don’t think anyone knows what it is.”
She added, “We live in a culture of trolling. Wear black and get trolled, don’t wear black and still get trolled. You know what I mean…” Huma, known for her role in Dedh Ishqiya, shared that she avoids reading comments about herself online.
“I don’t even read it. I have no patience for it, I have nothing for it. Why should I waste 15 minutes of my life reading some loser’s deconstruction of my life choices? I am really not interested. But I feel that people who do that come from a place of being unhappy. So, I feel bad for them,” she said.
Huma’s upcoming project is Pooja Meri Jaan. She wrapped up shooting for her web series Maharani 3 in October 2023, which will soon stream on SonyLIV. Maharani also features Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Kani Kusruti, Anuja Sathe, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.
