If you want to add a fun twist to your videos or create engaging content, you might be interested in reversing a video on your iPhone. While iOS doesn’t offer a built-in feature for this, there are third-party apps like CapCut that make the process simple. In this guide, we’ll show you how to reverse a video using CapCut on your iPhone.
Using CapCut to Reverse iPhone Videos
Download CapCut
Start by downloading the CapCut app on your iPhone. You can find it on the App Store, and it’s free to download, with optional in-app purchases.
Launch CapCut and Start a New Project
Once you’ve installed CapCut, open the app and navigate to the Edit tab using the bottom menu. Tap the blue “+ New project” button to begin a new project.
Select Your Video
Choose the video you want to reverse by tapping on “Add” after selecting your desired video from your iPhone.
Access the Editing Tools
After adding your video, tap on “Edit” (the scissor icon) from the bottom toolbar. Scroll horizontally through the editing options until you find the “Reverse” effect.
Apply the Reverse Effect
Tap on the “Reverse” effect, and once you see the “Reverse Applied” message, you’ll know that CapCut has successfully reversed your video.
Export Your Reversed Video
To save your reversed video, tap on the export icon (an underlined arrow) at the top-right corner. This will export and save the reversed video to your iPhone’s Photos app.
Remove CapCut Watermark
CapCut adds a watermark to the end of your reversed video. To remove it, select the black clip in your video timeline that contains the watermark. From the bottom toolbar, choose “Delete” to remove the watermark. Now, you can export your reversed video without the watermark.
Other Apps for Reversing Videos
While CapCut is a convenient option, there are other video editing apps you can explore, such as Splice. Keep in mind that Apple’s iMovie, while a powerful video editing app, doesn’t offer the reverse video tool on the iPhone version; this feature is available on the macOS version.
