Elon Musk, the guy who bought Twitter for $44 billion about a year ago, is a big deal. He cut the staff in half, and told the rest to work hard or quit. Musk said he got Twitter for humanity, not money. People doubted he could make it profitable, but lots of users liked the new subscription thing and the promise of creators making money.
Some liberal media and woke elites got upset when Musk took over Twitter. They threatened to leave and boycott the platform. But Musk didn’t care. He invited independent journalists to see what was going on behind the scenes at Twitter. This move changed how people thought about censorship on social media.
Before Musk, big platforms like Twitter and Facebook/Meta had almost all the control over information. The political Left and the Biden administration liked that because they could use it to control speech. But Musk messed that up for them.
Musk cares about truth and people freely sharing information. He knows that without free speech, there’s no freedom. During COVID-19 lockdowns, when speech was suppressed, and when the government said the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests were “mostly peaceful,” Musk saw a problem and did something about it.
The Biden administration and woke media weren’t happy about losing control of the digital public square. They tried to attack Musk when he replied to an X post in a not-so-great way. He talked about some Jewish groups pushing bad policies, and Musk agreed. He later said he could’ve been more clear, but the Left called him antisemitic and boycotted his ads.
But Musk didn’t stop there. When he got back to America, he made a big media appearance. Musk is not just about Twitter drama. He’s also a leader in electric cars and space travel. Elon Musk is a unique, self-made guy who understands what’s going on in culture and politics. He’s not on the Left or the Right. He’s just a person making a big impact. This is Elon Musk’s time, and it’s definitely his year.
