Essential Tips for charging mobile phones safely

May 30, 20232 Mins Read

One of the most common issues smartphone users face is related to their device’s battery. Despite being aware of proper charging practices, problems like overheating batteries or failure to switch on the phone still persist. To address these battery charging problems, here are some recommended practices:

charging mobile phones

It’s important to use the charger and accessories that come with your phone. While it may seem convenient to use the same charger for multiple devices, each phone’s charger is specifically designed to provide the optimal electrical power required for that particular device. Using a charger from another phone can be potentially harmful to both the battery and the phone itself. Additionally, if your phone supports fast charging, it’s advisable to use the charger provided in the box, as it is designed to work seamlessly with your device.

It is not advisable to completely drain your phone’s battery before charging it again. It’s best to reconnect the charger when the battery level drops to a few percent. While some may suggest charging the battery up to 100 percent, it’s actually better to disconnect the charger once it reaches around 80 or 90 percent. Allowing the battery to stay at 100 percent for prolonged periods can put unnecessary strain on it, potentially reducing its overall lifespan.

Avoid leaving your phone plugged in for extended periods of time, especially overnight. Charging your phone for short durations is recommended. Keeping your phone connected to the charger for an extended period, such as when you sleep, can cause additional stress on the battery and potentially shorten its overall lifespan.

By following these charging practices, you can help address battery-related issues and maximize the lifespan of your smartphone’s battery. It’s important to note that battery performance can also be influenced by factors such as software optimization, background apps, and overall usage habits. If you continue to experience significant battery problems, it may be worth considering professional assistance or contacting the manufacturer for further support.
