The Realme GT 7 Pro aims to merge durability with aesthetics, but its design choices evoke mixed reactions. The Mars Orange variant features a bold square camera module and wave-like patterns, which some may find adventurous but others garish, especially for a flagship contender. The Galaxy Grey option, though more subdued, lacks flair and feels uninspired.
On the upside, the device excels in build quality. The aluminum frame and micro-curved glass front and back give it a premium feel. An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, touted for working underwater, adds convenience, although performance underwater wasn’t always reliable during testing. The phone’s IP68 and IP69 certifications ensure rugged durability, protecting it against dust, submersion, and high-pressure water jets.
While the phone supports modern connectivity options like Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, the lack of eSIM support is disappointing. Overall, while the GT 7 Pro’s design doesn’t captivate, its robust construction ensures it’s built to last.
Display
The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display is a highlight, offering sharp visuals with its 1.5K resolution and 450 PPI pixel density. Though a 2K resolution would have been appreciated, the screen delivers exceptional brightness, peaking at 1,992 nits, making it ideal for outdoor use.
HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support elevate streaming experiences with deep blacks, vibrant colors, and excellent contrast. However, the LTPO panel, designed for dynamic refresh rate adjustment (1 Hz to 120 Hz), sometimes struggled to manage transitions efficiently, potentially impacting battery life. A software update could resolve this issue, but for now, it’s a minor drawback in an otherwise stellar display.
Performance
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the Realme GT 7 Pro sets a new standard for Android performance in 2024. Scoring an impressive 2.7 million on AnTuTu, it outpaces rivals like the OPPO Find X8 Pro and even outperforms Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max in some tests.
Gaming is a standout, with demanding titles like Genshin Impact running smoothly at high settings. AI-enhanced gaming features, such as Frame Plus and AI Super Resolution, enhance graphics and smoothness. However, extended stress testing revealed significant heat generation, with temperatures reaching 45–49°C, though day-to-day gaming remained comfortable.
The inclusion of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage ensures swift multitasking and app launches, but the outdated USB 2.0 port feels out of place on an otherwise cutting-edge device.
Software and AI Features
Running Android 15 with Realme UI 6.0, the GT 7 Pro provides a polished user experience, closely resembling ColorOS. While the software is feature-packed, the promised three years of OS updates and four years of security patches fall short compared to competitors offering longer support.
AI features like AI Ultra Clarity, Sketch to Image, and AI Motion Deblur are fun additions but remain niche in practical utility. The device performs well in AI benchmark tests, showcasing its capability for advanced tasks, though the real-world application of these features is limited.
Cameras
The camera setup is a mixed experience. The 50 MP primary lens and 3x telephoto lens perform admirably in daylight, delivering vibrant and detailed shots. Portrait mode offers good subject separation but could improve in edge detection.
However, the 8 MP ultrawide camera disappoints, particularly in indoor and low-light conditions, producing subpar results. Similarly, the 16 MP selfie camera works well in good lighting but struggles in dim environments.
Video capabilities include 8K recording at 24 fps, though stability issues make 4K at 60 fps a better choice for smoother footage. Overall, the cameras are competent but fail to match the device’s flagship-level performance and display.
Battery Life
The GT 7 Pro’s battery situation is controversial. The global model features a 6,500 mAh cell, delivering a day and a half of moderate use, while the Indian version is downgraded to 5,800 mAh, likely offering just a day’s endurance.
Charging is a highlight, with the included 120W adapter juicing up the 6,500 mAh battery from 0% to 100% in just 36 minutes. However, the absence of wireless charging is a notable omission for a flagship device.

The Realme GT 7 Pro is priced at $749 USD, offering competitive value for its high-end features. It is available in Mars Orange and Galaxy Grey color options and can be purchased via Realme’s official website, online retailers, and authorized stores.
Verdict
