Long gone are the days when 8GB of RAM was the standard for smartphones. Soon, even 16GB of RAM will be considered low-end. The OPlus group, consisting of Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme, was rumored to release phones with up to 24GB of RAM. However, the Red Magic 8S Pro became the first phone to actually have this much RAM. Now, it appears that Infinix is set to surpass all these brands by packing a whopping 26GB of RAM into their upcoming Infinix GT 10 Pro.
According to a tweet by Paras Guglani, the Infinix GT 10 Pro will feature 26GB of RAM, making it the first smartphone in India to offer this much memory. The phone is expected to launch in India within the next two months, followed by a global launch in August. Guglani also shared some key specifications of the device.
The Infinix GT 10 Pro seems to be a powerful gaming phone, as it boasts a particularly large 7,000mAh battery, which supports incredibly fast 260W charging, surpassing the capabilities of the Realme GT 3. Additionally, there will be a variant with 160W charging. The phone will sport a 120Hz AMOLED display and a triple rear camera setup. The primary camera will have an impressive 100-megapixel resolution, while the other two cameras will be 8 megapixels each.
Phones are continuously pushing the boundaries, cramming more and more RAM into their devices. However, the question remains: do we really need such massive amounts of RAM in our smartphones?
