In a beautiful celebration of love, Ira Khan, the daughter of Bollywood star Aamir Khan, and fitness trainer Nupur Shikhare exchanged vows at Taj Lands End, Bandra. The heartwarming event was attended by close family and friends, including notable personalities like Mukesh Ambani, the chairperson of Reliance Industries, and Nita Ambani, the founder of Reliance Foundation.
A video from the wedding venue captured Aamir Khan warmly welcoming the Ambanis, expressing his joy on his daughter’s special night. Adorned in traditional attire, the ‘Rang De Basanti’ star shared a warm hug with the Ambanis before escorting them into the venue.
The intimate ceremony, shared by Spice’s social media (Aamir’s PR team) on Instagram, featured Ira and Nupur signing their official marriage papers. A visibly proud Aamir Khan stood behind the couple alongside his former wife Reena Dutt.
Breaking away from conventional wedding norms, Nupur Shikhare’s ‘baraat’ took a healthy twist as they jogged approximately 8 km from Santa Cruz to the wedding venue in Bandra. Videos circulating online captured this unique and energetic entrance.
Upon reaching the venue, Shikhare, accompanied by his enthusiastic squad, showcased his dancing skills to the beats of the dhol. Dressed in white shorts and a black top, Nupur’s infectious energy set the tone for a lively and joyful occasion.
The love story between Ira and Nupur began during the COVID-19 lockdown when Nupur was training Aamir Khan, and Ira was residing with her father. The engagement ceremony took place in November last year.
On the work front, Ira has ventured into directing, making her debut with a theatrical adaptation of Euripides’ Medea. Meanwhile, Nupur Shikhare, a renowned celebrity fitness trainer, boasts an impressive clientele, having trained the likes of Aamir Khan, Sushmita Sen, and many others.
