This is actually the second time a Galaxy Z Fold5 has been spotted on Geekbench, with the first sighting believed to be a North American model. The new Galaxy Z Fold5 is set to be released alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 5 at the end of July. One exciting feature of the Galaxy Z Fold5 is that it will have a seamless foldable design, meaning there will be no gap between the two parts of the phone when it is folded. Additionally, it is expected to be slightly lighter than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and may offer improved dust protection and an enhanced camera.

The model number of the device spotted on Geekbench is Samsung SM-F946B. According to the benchmark results, the single-core performance of the device achieved a score of 1845, while the multi-core performance scored an impressive 5083.

The Galaxy Z Fold5 will run on the Android 13 operating system and features a motherboard referred to as “Kalama.” The device’s chipset is based on the ARM and ARM v8 architecture style. Samsung’s mobile chipset will be equipped with 8 cores, and the processor will have a base frequency of 2.02 GHz. However, during demanding tasks, the processor can reach a maximum frequency of 3.36 GHz.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 promises to be an impressive smartphone with powerful performance, a seamless foldable design, and notable improvements in various aspects compared to its predecessor.

OnePlus V Fold Leaked: Big Inner Display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and More

According to a recent leak, OnePlus is set to enter the foldable smartphone market with its upcoming device rumored to be called the “OnePlus V Fold.” The leak suggests that this foldable device will boast impressive specifications.

    OnePlus V Fold

The inner display is reported to be a substantial 7.8 inches with a 2K resolution and a high 120Hz refresh rate, surpassing the sizes of both the Pixel Fold and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. On the other hand, the outer display is said to be a 6.3-inch panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, but the aspect ratios have not been disclosed.

Under the hood, the OnePlus V Fold is expected to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which comes as no surprise since it is also present in the OnePlus 11. It is speculated to offer 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, positioning it as a flagship device.

Power will be provided by a 4,800mAh battery with 67W fast charging support through USB-C. Although not as fast as the OnePlus 11, it is significantly quicker than the charging speeds of Google and Samsung’s foldable phones. The device will come with Android 13 running OxygenOS.

In terms of cameras, the leak reveals that the OnePlus V Fold will sport a 48MP primary camera, a 48MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP camera equipped with a telephoto lens. However, the extent of the optical zoom capabilities remains unclear. It is worth noting that the OnePlus 11 only offers a 2x telephoto lens. Selfie enthusiasts will be pleased to find a 32MP front camera on the outer display and a 20MP front camera on the inner display.

OnePlus has officially confirmed that its first foldable device will launch in the third quarter, with rumors pointing to a potential release in August. Preview renders of the device showcase a design featuring a large circular camera bump and a reasonably wide outer display. With its impressive specifications, OnePlus aims to enter the foldable smartphone market strongly.

  • Google Pixel Fold: the future design of foldable smartphones!

Google Pixel Fold: the future design of foldable smartphones!

Over the past few years, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold line has dominated the market for large flexible phones. However, Google’s Pixel Fold has emerged as a strong contender and addresses some of Samsung’s weaknesses in this space. Priced at $1,799, the Pixel Fold may not be affordable for everyone, but it offers innovative design features worth noting.

    Google Pixel Fold

The Pixel Fold boasts a 5.8-inch exterior screen and a flexible 7.6-inch interior display with 120Hz OLED panels. Unlike Samsung’s narrower design, Google opted for a wider 17.4:9 aspect ratio for the exterior display, resembling a passport shape. This design choice allows for more comfortable usage without frequently needing to switch to the larger interior screen.

The Pixel Fold’s hinge and chassis design also minimizes the gap between the phone’s halves, resulting in a less than 6mm thin profile. It is slightly heavier than the Z Fold 4 but feels more balanced. The device is also water-resistant with an IPX8 rating, providing protection against accidental splashes or submersion.

One of the notable advantages of the Pixel Fold is its wider exterior screen, which offers a landscape orientation when unfolded, ideal for watching videos without needing to rotate the device. The slightly larger bezels accommodate an 8-megapixel camera, eliminating the need for a low-resolution under-display selfie camera found on the Z Fold 4. The extra space around the hinge allows for a comfortable grip similar to holding a paperback book.

The Pixel Fold comes with a pre-installed screen protector, and Google advises against removing it or using third-party screen protectors. Repairs can be done at Google service centres for a fee.  Over 50 first-party apps have been optimized for the device, providing a seamless transition between the exterior and interior displays. The camera performance of the Pixel Fold surpasses that of the Z Fold 4, capturing sharper, more detailed, and well-exposed photos. Google’s Night Sight feature excels in low-light photography.

Powered by Google’s Tensor G2 chip, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage, the Pixel Fold delivers a satisfactory level of performance. It runs smoothly even during multitasking, though it may occasionally run warm. The battery life is comparable to the Z Fold 4, and the Pixel Fold outlasts it in video playback on the external display.

The Pixel Fold proves to be a strong competitor to the Z Fold 4, offering a well-designed device with improved usability, water resistance, superior cameras, and multitasking capabilities. Google’s entry into the foldable phone market sets the stage for future advancements and shaping the future of Android.
