The Netherlands won their first title in 1988, beating the Soviet Union 2-0. Denmark won their first and only title in 1992, beating Germany 2-0. Germany won their third title in 1996, beating the Czech Republic 2-1.

The 2000s and 2010s

In the 2000s, France won their second title in 2000, beating Italy 2-1. Greece produced one of the biggest surprises in football history in 2004, beating Portugal 1-0 in the final. Spain won their second title in 2008, beating Germany 1-0 in the final. Spain won their third title in 2012, beating Italy 4-0 to win the title for the second time in a row. Portugal won their first title in 2016, beating France 1-0.

Recent Years (2020)

The 2020 edition of the tournament was held in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Italy won their second title, beating England 3–2 in a penalty shootout.
