1999 World Cup semi-final
England and South Africa faced each other in this match. South Africa suffered a big loss due to rain in that match. South Africa were on course to win. After the rain stopped, the equation in front of them was 22 runs off one ball. However, modern innovations such as the Dark Lewis method were not available at that time. Otherwise the result could have been different.
1996 World Cup semi-final
India and Sri Lanka faced each other in this match. Indian batsmen were playing well chasing the target of 252 runs thrown by Sri Lanka. India suddenly lost 7 wickets in a short period of time. Eden Gardens visitors threw many things, including water bottles, onto the field and created an atmosphere of anarchy. As a result, the match stopped there and Sri Lanka was declared the winner.
1999- Bilateral Series
West Indies and Australia faced each other in this series. In the fifth match, the game was reduced to 30 overs due to rain. Chasing in the second innings, Australia needed four runs off the last ball. Hitting the ball towards the boundary, the Australian batsmen managed to change places three times. Then the South African players thought they had won as the eager crowd entered the field. The match was later declared a tie.
2006 Test Series
England and Pakistan faced each other. The umpire accused Pakistan of ball tampering during the match against hosts England at the Oval. As a result, Inzamamul Haque decided not to enter the field with the team to protest the tea break.
2019 World Cup Final
England and New Zealand faced each other. The final match went into super overs. Both teams scored equal number of runs in the super over. However, England’s boundary was high and they were declared winners. Controversy arose on this issue.
